Linda Bruce has carefully crafted her vision for Soulful Prairies since acquiring 80 pristine acres in Woodstock about 11 years ago. It is a place of community, tranquility, and beauty, offering equine therapy, dinners and events, a farm stay rental, and more.
Part of the “more” is that Linda has a big heart for seeing local food farmers utilize the land. Since year one, Linda has set aside the front portion of her property along busy Alden Road – approximately three acres – for vegetable farming. First used as a community garden, it has been farmed as a market garden on and off over the last decade. This land is available again immediately for the 2022 growing season. She would like to find a committed and experienced farmer to lease the land for at least 3-5 years.
The three-acre area has ample water, electrical access, a small farmstand building (approx. 15’x20’) with storage and a walk-in cold storage area, and a recently built hoop house. Linda is open to naturally/organically grown vegetables, flowers, grains, even perennials. For the right farmer, Linda would also be open to the addition of small animal husbandry and different enterprises on other areas of her farm over time. Linda would love to find a farmer interested in providing farm fresh produce for the many dinners and events Soulful Prairies hosts each year.
“I feel like we have a lot to offer and want to find a farmer who is excited and ready to use the property to its full potential,” said Linda.
